We all walk this path<\/p>\n
Swagger or sway<\/p>\n
Cowardice or brave<\/p>\n
Some girl some boy<\/p>\n
Some man some woman<\/p>\n
Everyone a life, a soul, a being<\/p>\n
We come into the Earth<\/p>\n
Scrabble to survive<\/p>\n
Grab a piece of something or<\/p>\n
Someone and hold on for dear life<\/p>\n
We all dream and wonder<\/p>\n
We all scheme and plunder<\/p>\n
We all strive and blunder<\/p>\n
This life is all we know and together we walk here<\/p>\n
But……………<\/p>\n
Even shoulder to shoulder<\/p>\n
Hips hugging in the periphreal<\/p>\n
My shoes are different than yours, different than hers differnt than theirs<\/p>\n
We all walk together yet separated by our feet<\/p>\n
Each of us on our own path co-mingled with all the rest<\/p>\n
Each of us<\/p>\n
a tiny little bit in charge of<\/p>\n
What Happens Next<\/p>\n
Yet somewhat burdened at the same time by<\/p>\n
The shape of the road and<\/p>\n
We wish on stars and<\/p>\n
Gasp at atrocity and<\/p>\n
Revel in wrongdoing or heroism depending on<\/p>\n
Which road we took<\/p>\n
Yet we all move forward<\/p>\n
Crawling, shuffling, walking, running<\/p>\n
Moving on<\/p>\n
Taking in the breath we breathe and<\/p>\n
Blowing it\u00a0out<\/p>\n
Trying to light or extinguish the flames<\/p>\n
Wondering if the next corner brings<\/p>\n
Pain or salvation<\/p>\n
We cannot will not ever know<\/p>\n
We just keep on<\/p>\n
Keeping on<\/p>\n
Our choices are ours<\/p>\n
Yet the path is in anothers hands<\/p>\n
So regardless of these hard-won plans<\/p>\n
The path diverges<\/p>\n
Dips<\/p>\n
Cavorts and becomes a<\/p>\n
Shining road of gold or…<\/p>\n
A river of shit<\/p>\n
So when a man or<\/p>\n
Woman or<\/p>\n
Saint or<\/p>\n
Devil<\/p>\n
Makes\u00a0their choice and drives on<\/p>\n
The consequences are all that are real sometimes<\/p>\n
Echoed in the laughter of a child sometimes<\/p>\n
Echoed in the exaltation of joy sometimes<\/p>\n
Echoed in the tears of shame or defeat and sometimes<\/p>\n
Echoed in the sound of gunfire<\/p>\n
The beating heart walks the path too and<\/p>\n
As the pumping slows and slows and<\/p>\n
Stops<\/p>\n
Cordite wisping through the air<\/p>\n
Blood frozen forever in the moment<\/p>\n
The man on the path he chose<\/p>\n
Falls to the ground<\/p>\n
The crowd roaring in confusion around him<\/p>\n
The crowd applauds around him<\/p>\n
The crowd screams its disapproval<\/p>\n
The crowd whispers its acceptance<\/p>\n
He dies there in the midst of<\/p>\n
Consumers all thats left is family and friends and a good life with<\/p>\n
One bad choice<\/p>\n
Like the choices we all make to<\/p>\n
Live or to die<\/p>\n
To drown or fly<\/p>\n
To give or\u00a0take<\/p>\n
To\u00a0destroy or make<\/p>\n
We keepers sigh and move on and<\/p>\n
Pick up the evidence and<\/p>\n
Grin a bit at the tradgedy and<\/p>\n
Cry a bit at the sadness\u00a0because in the end<\/p>\n
It’s all inevitable<\/p>\n
