Where has this guy been??

Well I know that I've been MIA once again, and I just wanted you all to know that I am back and trying to do some things. Please click for a list of upcoming things that I am doing!

I will be at the "Second Saturday" event at the Beauty Bar located on Fabooolus Fremont street on November 12th. These events, put on by H and A productions have been simply great. I really hope that fans of spoken word continue to populate this wonderful night. Eight worthy poets doing eight worthy pieces, and booze too, you cant beat it!

On November 30th, I will be doing a public reading in downtown Reno, and will be guest lecturing at a Nevada Literature class at UNR the same day. This is in conjunction with my book Undercover being taught as part of the curriculum in that class and I am as excited as a teenager at a new kids concert.

Many more projects are planned, so check this site once a week as I have renewed my promise to post here regularly.

Best to all,

Harry

READING!!!

Yes I know, I haven't been dilligent but honestly I have been dilligent in OTHER areas of my life, especially with taking care of my family and work and online role playing games. I am reading poetry this Saturday March 12th at the FREAKIN FROG located at 4700 S. Maryland Parkway. This will be good, with a sprinkling of great. Come in and enjoy some of what seems to be almost a million different varieties of beer from around the world, and tease yourself with the words of Hayim Mizrachi, followed by Harry Fagel, who will be accompanied by the masterful saxaphonist, Perfect Tommy Marth
There could be other surprises too! Don't forget to check out Dirk Vermin's Gallery Au Go-Go, featuring Portrait Art as part of your cultural evening. One disclaimer, although it is a matter of Hippocratic Privacy (thanks lawyers of the universe) a subtle comment: I have been down with both Strep Throat and Bronchitis for the last week but I am on powerful anitbiotics and expect to be ready to go by Saturday. SO, if you are the worrying sort about cancellations and other inconveniences, feel free to call the Frog at 597-3237 the day of the show. I'm pretty confident that since my antibiotics were unaffordable by most working class Americans, that they probably will work! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE

Long Absense

I know that my website has been way behind in updates so I thought I would take a moment to explain. It seems that unscrupulous bastards around the world find it necessary to misuse the internet at every turn. Spam is just one part of the probelm, spybots and self attaching advertisement (pop-ups) are another, while viruses are also a crux in the cog.

Those of you who have been visiting my site for a while probably remember that I used to have a "comments" section on my daily blog, where friends, fans, haters, whatever, could post remarks about my art or anything else. This was a cool feature, and I really enjoyed some of your ideas and critisisms.

It was only a matter of time before I began receiving comments from what were obviously automated systems attaching remarks to my comments section. They were short in duration (usually just "cool site" or "I liked your site" and then had an email address in the user box. This email address was usually something

vulgar, such as "mom jerks-family off.com" or "butt lovin budies.com" or sometimes less overt, such as "online poker.com" or "viagra.com". Whatever the company, the ultimate result was the same. I became disgusted with the whole site, and within 6 months I had logged almost ten THOUSAND of these comments attaching to my site.

The people who do this type of subterfuge make me sick. They are using what is one of the most useful technological tools in the last 100 years to scam people and unfortunately, many of these fuckers are getting richer from it.

Anyway back to what's more important: Getting back to taking care of this site again. My good friend and web guru Josh Ellis has succeeded in removing the offending material, but unfortunately, I no longer offer comments. If you wish to comment on something, please email me at any one of my email addresses. If you don't have my email address then use the following fagelman2000 at
------------------------------------------- Yahoo................................................
com
I have encoded this, just take out the multiple hyphens, periods and change "at" to the @ symbol (you get the picture) (for example, johndoe@yahoo.com) I hope this is understandable, I just don't want these advertising assholes to get ahold of any more information.

Anyway, more cool announcements to follow, and don't forget DEC 11Th 2004 8PM-MIDNITE at Gallery Au-GoGo and the House of Brews....PRESENTING "UNDERCOVER" the book, along with other surprises.

What this site is about

This website is my way of letting the freaky poetry world and others know what I'm doing, have done, and what I am planning to do in the future. Soon all of my poetry will be posted here, along with photos of people and things and what not. I will also post links to cool sites around the internet. Eventually there should be a few MP3 files here as well, so keep checking...

I will also be posting art for sale that I create, and remember, you can order custom poetry (that's right! Commissioned pieces just like Kings get) by contacting me at fagelman@lvcm.com or at harry@fagelman.com
