Eggs
This poem got me thrown out of a poetry reading where I was the featured reader. Of all places: Barnes and Noble on Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas.
Gattica is here
The beautiful sell their eggs for thousands and thousands
Through cyberspace
Who buys these?
I want my child to be a perfect endless gorgeous super-model with
Nice teeth and
Great tits
and
Eyes you could drown in but I've got flat feet and bad hair
And less than desirable penis length
So maybe I could borrow some sperm from somewhere
Too
And My wife better go along with my plan maybe
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Love Hewitt genetic material
Placed deftly in her womb would make her a bit
Resentful but she'd get over it
Once the incredible whitetoothed full lipped button nose high cheekboned
Baby popped out
Cesarean style of course wouldn't want to squish the features pretty
Soon maybe
The ugly could get jobs as incubators for the beautiful
Going through the pain and suffering of pregnancy for
Big Cash or for
Early release from prison or for
Free Housing
After all the ugly are the poor and the poor need housing and the Rich need comfort so
Sounds
Symbiotic to me
Roosevelt couldn't have done it better this is the NEW New Deal with bennies galore
Just lay down and relax and have our baby we'll pay handsomely and we could forbid the
Ugly men from ejaculating anywhere near a fertile egg or even better we could
Vasectomize them at birth and pretty soon all the people in the world would be
So pretty and perfect and hot and soap opera cute
It would be a bay watch world an Mtv world a Supercalifragilisticespialidocious world and we'd all find each other so damn attractive that we would stop killing each other and we
would just keep fucking till we burned up like tiny suns
The egg sellers are our saviors. They are the Harbingers of World peace.
The egg sellers bring a new dawn.
Out with the ugly, the poor and the stupid.
In with the beautiful, rich and the smart.
Only problem I see, is there will be no one around to tidy up, and also: I will be on the first ugly bus outta here..
I guess paradise has it's price.
